A large number of exhibitors focusing on packaging and labelling are jointly inviting visitors to attend highly topical conferences every day at FoodTech. FoodTech takes place at MCH Messecenter Herning, Denmark, from 27-29 October 2026.

Packaging (packaging, ed.) and labelling will take centre stage at FoodTech when the Nordic region's leading destination for food technology brings together the entire food industry in October for three days of new products, inspiration, knowledge and networking.

Visitors can look forward to exploring conference presentations on the Machinery Regulation, the many opportunities offered by 2D barcodes, as well as the Packaging Regulation and circular packaging development.

- Packaging today is much more than the packaging itself. Labelling, inspection, data and traceability are closely interconnected, which is why it makes very good sense for us as suppliers to join forces at FoodTech. For visitors, this means that in one dedicated area they can meet different specialists, find inspiration and gain perspectives on the entire production line. This will be further supported by a practical conference programme providing insights into some of the current opportunities and challenges facing the industry, says Lykke Wichmann Eiler, Marketing and Communications Manager at Nimax Denmark, and puts into words what visitors can expect at the company's own stand:

- We are working under the theme 'When Everything Counts', because every gram, every inspection and every code matters for quality, traceability and efficiency. Visitors can experience solutions from Domino and, not least, Nemesis, which is a new and important part of our product portfolio, offering solutions for, among other things, checkweighing and product inspection. At the same time, this is our first FoodTech as Nimax Denmark (since the name change from Domino Systems, ed.), so we look forward to showing the industry how our broader product portfolio and international network benefit our customers in practice.

Providing Visitors with a Broader Insight
Among the exhibitors in the new packaging area is also Elmoprint, which likewise sees this new joint initiative as a natural fit.

- There is a lot happening within packaging right now - from PPWR (the new EU Packaging Regulation, ed.) and new packaging solutions to the transition to 2D codes. Therefore, it makes good sense for us as an industry to join forces and put additional focus on the area at FoodTech. In some areas, we are competitors, but we also bring different competencies to the table, and together we can give visitors a broader insight into the opportunities and changes currently shaping packaging, says Peter Bach Christensen, Sales Manager at Elmoprint, who will introduce several new solutions at the stand:

- At our stand, visitors can experience both labelling machines and the latest technology within print and laser. Among other things, we will be showcasing a high-speed machine for labelling bottles, as well as several new printer solutions. Another important theme will be GS1 Sunrise 2027 and the transition to 2D codes. This places new demands on, among other things, print quality, data and integration, and we want to make it tangible what companies need to be aware of in order to prepare production for the future.

Free Breakfast and Highly Topical Presentations
In addition to impressive and informative stands, the packaging exhibitors will serve free breakfast every morning, while they have also put together a highly topical conference programme featuring presentations from leading experts in the industry.

On the opening day, Thomas Thillemann Petersen, Project and Sales Manager at Maskinsikkerhed, will explain the new Machinery Regulation's requirements for both the design of machinery and documentation. On Wednesday, the new 2D barcode will be in focus when Charlotte Vig Kiær, Category Manager (Master Data) at REMA 1000, and Morten Buch, CCO and Head of Industry Engagement at GS1 Denmark, share their perspectives on the topic. On Thursday, Peter Reimer, Key Account Manager at VANA, will provide an update on the Packaging Regulation and circular packaging development.

The new packaging area and the exhibitors' commitment have generated considerable enthusiasm among the FoodTech team.

- We are very pleased that a number of strong exhibitors have joined forces to create a shared focus on packaging and labelling at FoodTech. It is an area undergoing significant development, where new requirements, technologies and opportunities are having a major impact on the industry, and therefore the timing is exactly right. At the same time, the initiative supports what FoodTech should be able to do: bring together different competencies and solutions and give visitors both inspiration, practical knowledge and a broader insight into a highly topical area, says Jacob Rasmussen, Project Manager, FoodTech.

The exhibitors joining forces are: Dansk Etiket Teknik, Dansk Maskin Teknik, Elmoprint, Halco Packaging, Nimax Denmark and Schur.
