Aker BioMarine AS ( Norweigan Antartic Krill Fishery and Biotech Company) has developed a new protein hydrolysate for human consumption (novel food). Aker BioMarine AS wanted to establish a pilot and prooduct launch facility for further product refining and development to initiate a production in full scale.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭

Aker BioMarine contacted Process Engineering for technical assistance in further developing this project which included various complex unit operations such as hydrolysis, separation and spray drying.

A team of technical experts from Process Engineering assisted the customer in scaling and designing the integrated process design for the product launch plant based on the small scales tests conducted by the customer.

Process Engineering assisted hereafter Aker Biomarine in site selection, plant layout and detailed functional tender to assist Aker BioMarine in selecting a turn-key process plant supplier.

Process Engineering worked as Aker Biomarine teamof technical experts during the whole project ensuring that the designed and delivered process plant met all requirements regarding sanitary design, functionality and technical specifications.
