European Hygienic Engineering & Design Group (EHEDG) is a global non-profit network dedicated to improving food safety and quality through hygienic engineering and design.

EHEDG Denmark and EHEDG Nordic are proud to represent the organisation and welcome visitors to the booth. Founded in 1989, EHEDG brings together food producers, equipment manufacturers, research institutes, universities, and public health authorities to develop practical guidelines, training, certification schemes, and a strong international expert network. EHEDG promotes hygienic design as a key enabler of safer food production, improved operational efficiency, sustainability, and reduced total cost of ownership.

Alan Friis

Co-chair EHEDG Denmark, EHEDG AEO & AT

Alan has more than 25 years of experience in hygienic design of food processes. He is heading the Centre for Hygienic Design at Force Technology. Alan has substantial experience with industrial applications areas such as food technology, food safety, systems engineering, hygienic design, installation, and maintenance. Alan is an EHEDG Authorised Evaluation Officer (AEO), is member of several EHEDG working groups and is co-author of several EHEDG guidelines. Alan is a highly experienced trainer with in the EHEDG community.

Per Væggemose Nielsen

Chair of EHEDG Denmark and founder of BioPres

Per has extensive international experience in food microbiology, food safety, hygienic design, and risk management, he supports food and ingredient manufacturers in developing safe, hygienic, and compliant production systems. Per is a recognized expert in applying EHEDG principles and guidelines, with particular focus on hygienic design risk assessment, equipment management, and integration of hygienic design requirements within food safety management systems such as FSSC 22000.

Natacha Holmud

Consultant, EHEDG AEO

Natacha is specialized in hygienic design and food safety, with a strong focus on creating safe, efficient, and sustainable processing environments. As an Authorised Evaluation Officer (AEO) at EHEDG she assists companies implement hygienic design principles and industry best practices. She has 10 years of experience working with design and development of food processing equipment, and furthermore specialises in food microbiology, designing various test methods for evaluation and validation of hygienic performance.
