Natural cheese wax - a European success story

A Danish company received funding from Eurostars to develop a revolutionary natural cheese wax. The cheese wax is now in demand around the world, making it a real success story for the European organisation.
It was a major event for Danish company Procudan when it launched its 100% natural cheese wax, ProCera® Natural, on the world market last year.
It was also a success story for the EU's Eurostars innovation programme.
A breakthrough innovation
ProCera® Natural was Procudan's own development, but along the way the project had the financial support and, not least, the moral boost of being part of the exclusive Eurostars programme.
The support was given because the European organisation believed that a natural cheese wax would be an important innovation and that there would be a market for it.
No petrochemical raw materials
ProCera® Natural has been on the market for almost a year and is attracting considerable interest from dairies worldwide. The international interest is because the natural cheese wax can be used to mature and protect cheese in the same way as conventional products.
However, unlike existing alternatives, the cheese wax contains no petrochemical raw materials.
