Water recycling, challenges and opportunities at Arla Food Ingredients

4 years ago, Arla Foods Ingredients (AFI) started designing a new wastewater recycling system that we called technical water. We would like to share our journey of challenges and opportunities connected to technical water, as we have been through a steep learning curve to understand the technology and the operational risk factors of the equipment.
The technical water project opened up to new possible applications (e.g. broader end-users), which we are working on right now. However, this successful journey was not without “bumps in the road”, and this gave us the opportunity to learn and optimize the technology to deal with unforeseen issues. Furthermore, we will talk about what’s next? And how does this help secure a sustainable growth for AFI?
