Bacteriophage testing system in ‘real time’ for stabile acidification

Delvo® Phage Test Kit is an early warning system for preventing bacteriophage issues by using qPCR techniques.
Bacteriophages are everywhere and can cause significant losses for dairy producers. Delays of fermentation will result in production slowdowns and downgrading of cheese (and other dairy products).
Controlling bacteriophages enables dairies more stabile production and will prevent product spoilage. Traditional bacteriophage analysis takes days to weeks before exact data is available. That is too late for accurate process control.
With DSM’s innovative new product, the Delvo® Phage Test Kit, one will have detailed insights within one hour.
The latest technology is brought to you by the experts of DSM will enable you to make faster, data-driven decisions on the factory floor - and reduce cheese downgrades and production delays. Savings will be substantial.

Step into the positive – Get more sustainable campaigns with the Q+ Static Display quarter pallet

What we can say today about the Danish shoppers is that their profile is the typical one for a fast shopper. They go to the store without knowing exactly what they really want, and they expect value from the time they spend in the store. They therefore expect an improved store experience, especially after Covid. At the same time, they expect companies to take responsibility in relation to the climate impact of their business and demonstrate this through actions.

The key campaign challenges facing both retailers and brands in Denmark are linked to meeting customer needs while improving performance throughout their supply chain while ensuring environmental savings.

Q+ Static – The Display quarter pallet from CHEP is an innovative product, specially designed for stores that use displays used as promotional activities. It helps brands and retailers maximize campaign roi and drive impactful results. It is effective for co-packaging due to Blue Click®,  the superior fastening system that collectively keeps packaging and products intact throughout the supply chain, reducing the risk of product damage. It is a sustainable product, certified CO2 Neutral® and adapted to multiple applications such as Double Stacking and connecting reusable trays and boxes. It is future-proof in its design, and digital devices can be inserted that enable marketing and supply chain services that are currently under testing.

New blue powder for 3D printing of food components

The Danish Technological Institute has developed a brand new polymer powder for 3D printing of components for the food industry. What is unique is that the powder - called BDP - is blue (as opposed to traditional white polymer powder), as well as being both metal and X-ray detectable - and approved for food contact. The powder has been developed at the request of several companies in the food industry, which already today see great opportunities in 3D printing of various components, and which at the same time wants to increase food safety as much as possiblet.

With 3D printing, material consumption is significantly lower than with traditional manufacturing methods - and this powder also consists of 50% recycled powder and 50% upcycled new powder. In addition, there are the derived effects in the form of easier dismantling and cleaning. This helps to save resources in food production - e.g. less water consumption for cleaning. Thus, BDP powder (and 3D printing) supports the UN's 12th Sustainable Development Goal on responsible consumption and production.

How can extrusion technology contribute to upcycling and reducing heating emissions

Extrusion Technology is the perfect process for upcycling some ingredients considered as waste.
For example, using these ingredients to make plant-based products.
Also, extrusion technology can help to reduce heating emissions by producing locally vs imports, by producing plant-based products vs animal farmings, etc.

Cost-neutral energy efficiency of food businesses

According to the Confederation of Danish Industry, the food industry is the industry that has received the largest additional cost as a result of the increase in electricity and gas prices.
At the same time, the need to reduce the climate footprint of food companies is increasing. With their ambitious climate goals, companies like Salling Group and COOP set the agenda in Denmark. They do this, among other things, by focusing on the suppliers' climate footprint. The climate impact of food companies is becoming a competitive parameter in line with price and quality.

In this post, Siemens will give an insight into how, by taking responsibility for the entire process, they can help food companies reduce their energy consumption, as well as climate footprint. Siemens will also show how energy savings can finance major coherent energy efficiency projects.

Follow energy consumption and reduce electricity bills

It has not escaped many people that a battle is being fought to keep up with the electricity bill - both in private and for companies, which in some cases are directly threatened with their existence.
The challenge for many companies is that it is difficult to know where to take action.
Therefore, Sebastian M. Sandig, CEO of Trendlog.io tells a little about the specific tools that exist that help companies gain insight into their consumption right down to machine level, so they know where to take action.

Trendlog is a Danish company founded in 2017 with a vision of simplifying digitization for manufacturing companies and making the value of data available. We do this with smart data collection options and a subscription-based Cloud platform, which gives companies a unique chance to streamline and get the basis for their green transition.

Stability studies in vitamin analyses

Vitamins and other nutrients break down over time, and the rate of degradation depends on the conditions under which products are stored.
In products made for consumption, for both animals and humans, the degradation is complex and largely depends on the components of the product.

Come and hear how we at Eurofins Vitamin Testing approach stability studies on everything from juices and snacks to supplements and vitamin mixtures, as well as why stability studies provide useful information across different industries and matrices.
