Realizing industrial sustainability, by holistic water and energy audits

Water & Energy StageEnglish

Industry is a large consumer of water and energy, with > 22 % of the total global water withdrawals being used for industrial purposes1. Water is one of the most important ingredients in food manufacturing and has become a high-cost resource with progressive constraints on supply and discharge. Often water treatment systems are not running at the most optimized setting which results in water loss and high energy use. While this problem is global – the solutions are highly local, giving rise to the opportunities for food and beverage industries to lower their water and energy consumption, while optimizing their water treatment systems.

This talk will present a case story and highlight the benefits of optimizing water treatment application with a holistic approach with focus on both water AND energy savings. This also helps food and beverage industries gain overview of their water and energy usage while accomplishing their sustainability goals.
