SafeMCH agreement between MCH and exhibitors in connection with COVID-19

MCH has developed a SafeMCH programme that is specifically designed for exhibitions and focuses on how guests make their way through the expo.

SafeMCH is based on MCH’s vision:
Creating unique experiences where people can safely meet.

For that reason, it’s important that we share and align our expectations of what SafeMCH means for us as MCH and for you as an exhibitor. Together, we must work to ensure that you and your employees and guests, as well as our guests and staff, can make their way around the expo and visit stands safely.

Hence the need for us to enter into a SafeMCH® agreement that covers, among other things: Distance, Numbers and Hygiene.

MCH Messecenter Herning

MCH complies with all the guidelines stipulated by the authorities in relation to exhibitions.

  • Exhibitions are covered by the Danish Ministry of Industry, Business and Financial Affairs’ Guidelines for shopping centres and department stores.”
  • Catering and restaurants at exhibitions follow the Danish Hotel and Restaurant Association’s (HORESTA) “SAFE TO VISIT” scheme.
  • MCH adhere to the framework outlined in SafeMCH – see the overview.
  • MCH will place a label on your stand indicating the maximum number of people permitted on the stand at any one time.

Exhibitors at FoodTech

Exhibitors must comply with all the guidelines pertaining to hosting exhibitions put forward by the authorities. Exhibitions are covered by the Danish Ministry of Industry, Business and Financial Affairs’ “Guidelines for shopping centres and department stores.” For clarity, MCH has created SafeMCH to show exhibitors what they need to consider:

Setting up and dismantling:

The Danish Ministry of Industry, Business and Financial Affairs’ rules and guidelines for manufacturing companies and construction sites are applicable – of which the most important rules are:

  • Plan the job so that employees/contractors can maintain a safe distance between them: 1 metre for normal tasks and 2 metres for strenuous, hard physical work.
  • Ensure access to hand sanitiser at your stand.
  • Minimise contact between people, e.g. tools should not be shared without first being disinfected.
  • Regularly clean the surfaces, etc. on your stand.

Before the exhibition:

The most important things to prepare for are:

  • Pay attention to how many people are permitted on your stand. The rule is that there must be 4 m2 available for each person in the stand area (without taking the structure/inventory into account).
  • This means that at any one time a 12 m2 stand can have a maximum of 3 people and a 24 m2 stand can have a maximum of 6 people, for example. Both exhibitors and visitors count as people on your stand. You are responsible for ensuring compliance with this rule – and for any fine or penalty issued by the authorities in relation thereto.
  • You must therefore plan how many employees can be present on your stand at the same time. Remember to print exhibitor passes from home.
  • You should also consider how many tables and chairs you plan to have on your stand. If you set up tables and chairs, there must be a 1-metre distance between individuals’ faces when seated.
  • We recommend arranging visits with your customers in advance and using a separate meeting area – so that you can keep space available at your stand for customers who drop by spontaneously.
  • Make customers aware that they MUST register on the expo’s website before their visit.
  • It is your responsibility to bring the various protective equipment (hand sanitiser, gloves) and to ensure additional hygienic cleaning of the surfaces, etc. on your stand.
  • You may not plan activities that could create a queue at your stand.

During the exhibition:

  • There are no guidelines on which parking areas you and other exhibitors can use.
  • Visitors are permitted to stand in the passageway in front of your stand – provided they maintain a 1-metre distance between them. They may not block the passage to the extent that it prevents others from passing. Guests waiting in the passageway may not disturb the neighbouring stand by blocking or disrupting the entrance/exit/visibility.
  • It is your responsibility to make the various protective equipment (hand sanitiser, gloves) available and to ensure additional hygienic cleaning of the surfaces, etc. on your stand during the expo.
  • You may not organise any activities that could create a queue at your stand, such as a wheel of fortune, free tastings for all visitors, or the sale of food/snacks/drinks.
  • However, you are permitted to offer tastings of your product(s) to guests within your stand area (general food regulations must still be observed).
